The recommended number of air changes per hour for a standard home is 4. To get the ventilation rate of the home, the number of air changes per hour is multiplied by the volume of the home:
4 x 8000 ft^3 = 32,000 ft^3/hr = 533 CFM
Assuming the air density is close to 0.075 lbm/ft^3, the mass flow rate for the home is approximately 40 lbm/min.
